Signs Your Cat Loves You
Your Cat Grooms You
Cats groom other cats as a display of affection – just watch a mother cat with her babies. If your cat licks you, then it is a sign that they love and trust you.
It also allows them to mark you with their scent, which is the cat’s way of claiming you as their own!
Your Cat Purrs When It's With You
When a cat is purring it is showing contentment. If you cat is lying near you, or on you, and purring it means that they are happy and contented in your presence.
If your cat purrs when you are petting them then its a sign that they love it and don’t want you to stop!
Your Cat Follows You
If your cat follows you around the house, even outdoors, that is a sign of love and trust. It also means that they are interested in you and want to watch and see what you do.
Its always lovely when your cat greets you at the front door when you come home – that’s also a sign of love.
Your Cat Brings You Presents
This isn’t usually the kind of present you want! If you have a cat that goes outside they will often bring you back a rat, a mouse, or even a bird. While it is gross, it is a sign of love and trust and shows that your cat thinks you both belong to the same tribe.
Indoor cats may bring you toys and other things they are interested in – it means the same, and is much less likely to give you a nasty fright!
Your Cat Sleeps Near You
If your cat likes to sleep on or near you then they are showing that they feel safe and trust you. It’s a sign of love.
They trust that you will keep them safe and protect them so they can sleep happily and securely.
Your Cat Shows Their Tummy
While it’s not the most attractive pose, a cat who lies on their back and lets you see their tummy is telling you that they are relaxed in your presence and that they trust you.
It’s not always an invitation to stroke their tummy, so be careful as they may not like it. They are simply showing you that they feel comfortable and safe enough to show you their most vulnerable part.
